Meeting before the start of repair work at the Kazan Central Stadium
The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, held a meeting at the city’s Central Stadium in connection with its upcoming reconstruction. The meeting was attended by the director of the State Institution “GISU RT” Niyaz Sitdikov, the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Linar Garipov, the head of the Capital Construction Department Marat Samigulin.
Large-scale work will begin in December, in addition to general construction work, treadmills and plastic chairs will be replaced. The renovated stadium will host the athletics competitions of the BRICS Games.

“The golden pages of the sports history of the capital of Tatarstan were written at the Central Stadium of Kazan. First of all, this is Rubin, we became champions in 2008 and 2009. The athletics arena is a favorite place for city residents today, where champions have grown and continue to grow, delighting both coaches and parents, and bringing sports glory to Kazan. Thanks to Rais of our republic, Rustam Nurgalievich, funding has been allocated and we will receive an updated Central Stadium for the BRICS Games,” said Ilsur Metshin.
