The largest children's park in the republic, "Yelmai," opened on the Kazanka River embankment. It consists of a unique playground, pavilions, a green labyrinth with an observation deck, and an event area. The park is connected by a staircase to the Fuchs Garden, which was renovated for City and Republic Day. The Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, visited the facilities. Ilnar Khafizov, Director of the State Institute of Urban Planning and Management of the Republic of Tatarstan, also participated in the opening ceremony.

The Fuchs Garden is one of the oldest public gardens in Kazan. It was established on a steep slope on the left bank of the Kazanka River at the initiative of the City Duma in 1896. Ten years later, on the 220th anniversary of the birth of Kazan University professor, physician, and botanist Karl Fuchs, a bronze monument was erected in the garden.

This year, thanks to landscaping, the garden's area has increased to 11,000 square meters—this was made possible by incorporating adjacent, unused land.

The public space is a green area for quiet relaxation. The garden offers panoramic views of the opposite bank of the Kazanka River and the city's public spaces. Twenty-two benches, 15 trash cans, and two tables have been installed. Four more ottoman benches are located next to the flower beds. Information boards allow Kazan residents and visitors to learn about Karl Fuchs and the history of the public space.

The circular square with the monument to Karl Fuchs remains the main functional area of the garden. Forty-two cast-iron outdoor lighting poles in a historical style have been installed in the garden, and another 60 lamps have been added along the granite staircase and slopes. Fencing, 520 meters long, was also installed along the perimeter of the park and in the center of the staircase. A durable and wear-resistant granite pedestrian pavement was laid over an area of 4,100 square meters.

Fuchs Garden and Yelmay Park were connected by a pedestrian connection – at the request of residents, the existing granite staircase was widened to three meters. Rais Tatarstana and the mayor descended along it to the new public space, which now offers entertainment for children and their parents.

"On this festive day, we are opening a wonderful children's park. I would like to thank the designers and builders for the high quality of their work. The sponsors provided support throughout the project – we extend our special thanks to them. But most importantly, our children. We hope you will enjoy your stay here, and the park will become your favorite place to relax," Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the residents.
