The grand opening of the Russian drama theater “Masterovye” with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took place in Naberezhnye Chelny today. The President was accompanied by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and the Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev.
In his congratulation, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the large-scale project was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his last visit to Naberezhnye Chelny. The theater was built within the framework of the federal state program “Development of Culture”.
The construction of the theater began in October 2020. The four-storey building with an area of more than 11.6 thousand sq.m. includes 2 halls: for 100 and 500 seats. The building also has a recording studio, a children's room, a photo workshop, an exhibition hall, an archive, a video library and a buffet. On the adjacent territory there is Parking for 71 cars, 9 places — for low-mobility groups of the population.
“Naberezhnye Chelny is a large city in Russia, 500 thousand people live here. It should be comfortable and convenient. Today we are opening a wonderful new theater. An old dream of the townspeople has come true. In general, this is a great event for the entire theatrical community of the country,” the President of Tatarstan said.
