Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation: Tatarstan is the leader in the volume of housing construction in the Volga Federal District
The Republic of Tatarstan ranks first in the Volga Federal District in terms of commissioning volumes, housing security per capita, and housing affordability. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Nikita Stasishin at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan.
He noted that 92.6 million square meters were commissioned last year. m of housing across the country. This is the largest volume of housing commissioning in the entire history of the country, not only of the modern period, but also of the time of the USSR.
In his speech, Nikita Stasishin outlined the key areas of development for housing construction. He stressed that in recent years, several new support tools and significant programs have been launched in the country – subsidizing mortgages and switching to project financing in shared-equity construction - which have made it possible to improve the quality of new housing and increase urban development potential.
"An important point of growth today is individual housing construction. The development of this direction has been repeatedly discussed, including at the commission of the State Council for Construction, Housing and Communal Services and the city environment under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov," the Deputy Minister said.
He recalled that at the end of last year, a federal law was adopted extending the mechanism of project financing and escrow accounts to individual housing construction (IHS). This law creates a foundation for the formation of the mortgage lending sector in the field of housing and communal services and allows to stimulate the complex development of territories within the sector.
In addition, a program has been launched to support low-margin projects, subsidize mortgages, and the family mortgage program continues. Within the framework of the "infrastructure menu" launched last year, infrastructure construction will receive active development. All these mechanisms are aimed at ensuring the achievement of the national goal "A comfortable and safe environment", including in terms of improving the living conditions of citizens and the urban environment.
