A new school in the Vesna residential area has been equipped with a cafeteria, a design that will be replicated throughout the republic. Its distinctive feature is its zoning, which will reduce the time it takes to serve food and to serve students and staff. Lyceum No. 95, a natural sciences school, will be named "Ikәn" ("It Turns Out"): it will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities so that children not only gain knowledge and skills but also can choose their future professions. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin held a meeting on-site to inspect the school's readiness for opening. Ilnar Khafizov, Director of the State Institute of Urban Planning and Management of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in the on-site meeting.
The three-story school is designed for 1,501 students. The total area of the school will be almost 28,000 square meters. "It's not just the rapid construction timeline that is impressive, but also the quality of the work. Kudos to both the builders and the designers. It would seem that a single design was created for all schools, but thanks to the design solutions, each school has a unique look. "This is commendable," said Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
The school boasts two swimming pools and gymnasiums, as well as a concert venue for 670 people. The school restaurant seats 750, allowing students to eat during two breaks. Specialists also compiled a unified list of necessary equipment and set up an additional serving line.
Lyceum No. 95 will focus on natural sciences and will be equipped accordingly. The school has 87 classrooms, each equipped with an interactive whiteboard. Engineering classrooms will be equipped with 3D printers, equipment for assembling unmanned aerial vehicles, and web programming tools. The school will soon be equipped with digital labs for specialized classrooms and elementary school classes, as well as robotics equipment. During life safety classes, children will practice shooting on an electronic shooting range, and during technology classes, they will work with laser cutting machines and CNC machines.
Furniture, equipment, and approximately 16,500 books for the library (15,000 federal textbooks, another 750 regional textbooks, and the same number of fiction books) are being delivered to the school these days. Exercise bikes, treadmills, and parallel bars are being installed in the small gym, while basketball hoops, soccer goals, and a volleyball net are being installed in the large gym. Two swimming pools with lifting equipment for children with disabilities have already been filled with water.
This year, three schools will open their doors in Kazan: in the M14 microdistrict, the Novye Gorki residential complex, and the Vesna-2 residential complex. These new schools will provide education for nearly 4,000 students. Thus, with the opening of these new institutions, the number of new schools in Kazan in the last 15 years will increase to 27.
