BOSC reconstruction is 79.4% complete

Work on the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities (BWTP) in Kazan is being carried out within the framework of the federal project “Improvement of the Volga” of the national project “Ecology”.

Now the second stage of the project for the reconstruction of BOSC is being carried out at the site. It provides for the reconstruction and construction of 10 structures, including 8 primary settling tanks, the building of grates, aeration tanks and sand traps of the first stage

At the moment of implementation of stage ll, the reconstruction of 4 secondary settling tanks has been completed. Construction and installation work is 79.4% complete.

Biological sewage treatment plants in Kazan were put into operation in 1962. By the beginning of reconstruction, their wear was 68.5%. Their design capacity is 650 thousand cubic meters per day. The actual intake was 361.8 thousand cubic meters/day.

The implementation of stages I and II of reconstruction will improve the quality of urban wastewater treatment and increase the volume of wastewater received.
