Construction of one of the largest children's parks in Russia is underway on the Kazanka embankment. The public space with an area of 3.4 hectares will be able to be visited by up to 8 thousand people at the same time. The park will have areas for games and recreation, a multifunctional pavilion and fountain, an event area, a cafe and the city's first natural labyrinth. The new public space is already 40% ready. The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, visited the site and instructed to pay special attention to the safety of public space.
“Today, the largest children’s park is at the implementation stage, the area of which is almost 3.5 hectares. It will accommodate up to 8 thousand visitors at the same time: children, parents, and grandparents. To date, the work has been completed in full, everything necessary is there. We hope that for the City and Republic Day we will give the little residents of Kazan a children’s park,” noted Ilsur Metshin.
As of today, concrete and network work has been completed in the park. The specialists began connecting lights and video cameras.
Ilsur Metshin instructed to take additional measures to ensure the safety of citizens, including installing microphones and panic buttons. “You need to place microphones near important points. The security guard will see some kind of offense and will not run to the place, but will warn the person through the microphone. This will help avoid vandalism. A practice that definitely works,” the mayor assured.
The playground in the new park will be one of the largest in the country. Children of all ages can play on it. To do this, the site will be divided into functional zones: an area for playing with water, where you can study the structure of the river, a movement area with various obstacles for active recreation, a teenager’s playground, and an area for children with canopies, ladders and paths made of stumps. Today, the implementation of the idea has already begun - swings and small sandboxes have been installed.
At the same time, builders are building a multifunctional pavilion in which they plan to open a cafe, a public toilet and a workshop for the Archchildren organization, where children will be able to create small architectural forms and develop in various areas, including design and theater. For the safety of children, the project took into account the connection of equipment for collecting dust and other small elements.
At the final stage of work on arranging the fountain next to the pavilion. Now the structure is being clad, said Ruzal Farkhullin, head of the urban-ecological framework development department at the City Development Institute.
Another area for children's games will be a natural labyrinth. Not a single child can get lost in it, since there is an observation deck designed inside, from the height of which parents will watch the kids have fun. The labyrinth will be made from dense trimmed bushes. Six lamps will be installed in it to illuminate the space in the evening. You can walk through the labyrinth throughout the year.
The park will have a stage for city events of various formats, including concerts, city holidays or local events, for example, reporting performances of creative groups.
Deputy Director of GKU Glavinveststroy Viktor Nikolaevich Nikitenko also took part in the inspection of the facility under construction.
