The progress of the work, which was 57% completed, was checked by the head of the city Executive Committee, Rustem Gafarov. The first part of the “Fisherman’s Garden” was opened in September last year. In the park on the side of Kyzyl Armeiskaya Street, workers installed a large themed children's playground, updated the road surface, installed new lighting and connected video surveillance.
The main work in the garden began this year, since the second stage of improvement covers 2 of the 2.4 hectares of the garden. New lighting will be installed in the garden and additional landscaping will be carried out. The entrance area will be updated, 22 benches, new flowerpots and bicycle parking will be installed. Along the garden there are sports grounds - a football field and a tennis court, a volleyball and basketball court and an area with exercise equipment.
The fountain remains the central point of the park. For many years it was not operational because its main elements required major reconstruction.
The improvement of the "Fisherman's Garden" is carried out within the framework of the national project "Housing and the Urban Environment".
