The round table meeting “Expanding the use of republican petrochemical products in the construction industry” was held today at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center. The event was held within the framework of the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum-2022.
The meeting was held by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin. The round table was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, heads of republican ministries and departments, heads of large petrochemical enterprises and specialized educational institution - KGASU. Also representatives of design and construction organizations, customer services and manufacturers of building materials.
“The issues of using petrochemical products of republican production in the construction industry are becoming more relevant every day. It is pleasant to note that the mineral resource base and the developed branch of the construction industry of the republic allow us to produce today a wide range of construction products, both traditional materials and innovative, with improved characteristics,” said Marat Aizatullin.
During the meeting, topical issues were discussed in the creation of innovative production of new, multifunctional additives, replacement of traditional materials used in the construction complex with effective and modern ones.
So, the SafPlast company made a presentation of polycarbonate as an energy-efficient replacement for traditional glazing. Andrey Evseev, CEO of SafPlast LLC, said that the use of polycarbonate in construction reaches 65% in the world, while in our country it is about 25%. An example of already built facilities – indoor tennis courts in Moscow (Sokolniki Park) can serve to popularize the new material.
Rustam Minnikhanov asked about the characteristics of polycarbonate in comparison with traditional glazing – the ratio of price and quality, vandal-proof characteristics, thermal conductivity and flammability. According to him, the new material can be used at the pilot facility to study these issues in detail.
Ramil Khismatullin, Development Director of Kazan-Pyrohim LLC, made a presentation on “Two-circuit electric fire safety system”. He suggested using fire extinguishing systems during construction, including UZDP – arc breakdown protection devices. He stressed that the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the first subjects of Russia, where they actively began to work out the issue of the introduction of USDP, primarily in social facilities.
The President of Tatarstan, commenting on the report, said that the use of fire extinguishing systems is a very important topic. He invited specialists to study the company's products and give an appropriate conclusion, paying special attention to the quality of the products and the period of its use (product life cycle).
In addition, the “round table” presented innovative fire extinguishing systems, innovative production of multifunctional additives from silicone polymer waste, technology of fire-free cutting of materials, armored entrance groups and polymer composite materials in the construction and operation of facilities in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that today new materials and new approaches in the construction industry are most in demand. It is necessary to carefully study the projects that are presented today, he said, to attract specialists from the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan, to use the existing scientific potential and laboratory capabilities of KGASU. He instructed to create a working group in the Republic of Tatarstan to study the possibilities of using new materials obtained in cooperation with petrochemicals in the construction industry.
