On June 29, 2022, as part of a press conference at TASS, the concept of holding the International Construction Championship, which will be held in Kazan on October 5–8, was presented. In 2022, the championship joined the line of projects of the "Russia - Land of Opportunities" platform, becoming an important event in the framework of the implementation of new development strategies in modern conditions.
Today, the demand for highly qualified craftsmen in the construction industry is steadily growing. Construction professions, according to a study by VTsIOM, were included in the top ten most prestigious professions and took 8th place in the ranking. Half of the Russians surveyed are considering working in this industry. For the implementation of large-scale tasks in the construction industry, professional personnel are needed. An important task of the International Construction Championship in 2022 is the personnel transformation of the construction industry. The project “Russia - the Land of Opportunities” is aimed at creating social lifts in Russia and providing conditions for self-realization of citizens in personal and professional terms.
First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Alexander Lomakin focused on the development of the technological sovereignty of the construction industry in Russia.
“The annual holding of the Championship is included in the Action Plan for the implementation of the Concept of interregional and cross-border cooperation of the CIS member states for the period up to 2030, approved by the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States dated November 6, 2020. Holding the II Championship will be a presentation of Russia as a construction power, will serve solution of the tasks facing us and the center for the formation of effective industrial cooperation with business partners and foreign countries in the field of construction. By organizing such venues as the International Construction Championship, we actively support industrial construction - this is investment in the Russian economy, new jobs and tax payments to the state budget,” said Alexander Lomakin, First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation.
As part of the International Construction Championship 2022, 20 nominations will be presented in three areas: industrial construction, design of industrial facilities and construction project management. Over 1000 participants are expected by the organizers, of which 20% are students. The prize fund of the Championship is 44.1 million rubles, and the prize fund of the Student League is 11.7 million rubles.
