Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new perinatal center in Kazan. The medical facility will be located on the basis of the maternity hospital of the city clinical hospital No. 7.
The perinatal center has 160 beds. Up to 8 thousand births will be delivered here every year. Assistance will be provided to pregnant women from Kazan and from the surrounding areas of the republic.
"Today we are launching the construction of a new perinatal center. We pay great attention to the issues of increasing demography. And one of our top priorities is safe motherhood. We must create all the necessary conditions for our future mothers. The creation of a modern center will significantly improve the quality of these services," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
The new center will have a reception and diagnostic unit with a maternity room -an operating room and diagnostic service, an obstetric department with 100 beds, large intensive care units, a neonatal pathology department with 60 beds, four operating rooms and 7 delivery rooms. The neonatal intensive care unit will be equipped with modern breathing equipment and incubator cuvettes for nursing babies.
The ceremony of laying the stone was attended by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin.
