Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Mother of God Monastery.

Accompanied by Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, he toured the territory of the monastery and became familiar with the condition of some of the objects located here. In particular, Rustam Minnikhanov was shown the building of the Church of St. Nicholas of Tula and the abbot's building, the building of the nursing corps and the building of the parochial school. A presentation of the reconstruction of the buildings was organized.

It is believed that the Church of St. Nicholas of Tula was one of the first temples built in Kazan after 1552. Later, the temple burned many times or was demolished, but was rebuilt. During Soviet times, the building was rebuilt - the dome was demolished and an additional floor was added. Until 2005, the workshops of a former tobacco factory were located here. Currently, the architectural monument is in disrepair. Funds have been allocated for the development of design and estimate documentation.

The nearby abbot's building is also in disrepair and requires restoration (as part of the reconstruction of the entire monastery complex). Funds have also been allocated for this facility to develop design estimates.

The building of the nursing building appeared in the ensemble of the Kazan Monastery in 1832-1843; it was the work of architects A.K. Schmidt and Ya.M. Shelkovnikova. During Soviet times, the building was rebuilt; until 2005, it housed a dormitory for a former tobacco factory.

The fourth object that Rustam Minnikhanov inspected was the building of the parochial school. This parochial school in memory of Emperor Alexander III was opened in the Kazan Bogoroditsky Monastery in 1896. From 1900 to 1928, a gold embroidery workshop was located here. When the monastery was closed, this building housed various institutions (a film studio pavilion, tobacco factory facilities, premises of a pedagogical institute, etc.). Now the building is also in disrepair; restoration is required as part of the reconstruction of the entire monastery complex.

As Rustam Minnikhanov was told, work is currently underway to examine all these objects.

The Rais of Tatarstan instructed to prepare documentation for all objects inspected today. “We need documentation,” he said. “We need to know what funds will be needed to restore the facilities.”

“The restoration of these objects is a charitable work,” summed up Rustam Minnikhanov.

Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, head of the Tatarstan Metropolitanate, shared with Rustam Minnikhanov his plans for the revival of the Kazan Theological Academy.

The head of the Administration of the Rais Republic of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin, the deputy director of the GKU Glavinveststroy Ayrat Nadrshin and other officials took part in the inspection of the objects on the territory of the Kazan Bogoroditsky Monastery.
