Rustam Minnikhanov visited the renovated gymnasium No. 19 in Kazan
Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the renovated Kazan gymnasium No. 19. He was accompanied by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilsur Khadiullin and the mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin.
The guests talked with students, discussed its further development with the management of the institution, assessed the major renovation of the main building and visited the new additional building. All work in the educational organization was completed in 2023. Let us remind you that the two-story annex of the gymnasium, designed for 300 people, accepted its first students in January. The building was equipped with 12 classrooms, a spacious dining room with 372 seats, a gym, a multifunctional area for games and recreation, and an additional wardrobe
The facility was built under the national project “Education”. Before this, the actual number of students was more than twice the design capacity of the institution, which was originally designed for 800 people. In the school canteen there were 18 students per seat - 15 breaks were required to feed all the children. Now, thanks to the new canteen, which operates in the format of a school restaurant, all students have time to have lunch in 4 breaks.
The old building was completely renovated in the summer. Workers replaced the roof, updated the façade, utility networks, entrance lobby, assembly and sports halls, and bathrooms.
Gymnasium No. 19 is located in a densely populated area of the city. Today, over 1.8 thousand children study here – 58 classes. 104 teachers work with the children, of which 38 are of the highest and 41 of the first category.
