In the M14 microdistrict under construction in Kazan, a school for 1,224 students is being built. The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, got acquainted with the progress of construction work.

The new school will be the first municipal educational institution in M14. Now children from this microdistrict attend the multidisciplinary lyceum No. 186 “Perspective” on Rauisa Gareev Street, which has already exceeded its actual capacity, so some schoolchildren study in the second shift.

The total area of the school will be 19.3 thousand sq.m. The three floors of the building will house 52 classrooms, a dining hall with 612 seats, and an assembly hall with seating for 306 people.

“Kazan is one of the leaders in Russia in terms of the number of square meters of housing commissioned, and we have set ourselves the task of ensuring that social infrastructure does not lag behind. Over the past 10 years, we have built 177 such facilities, of which 90 are kindergartens, another 25 are schools. We are the absolute leaders in Russia in terms of the number of social facilities commissioned. The exceptions are Moscow and St. Petersburg, because these are not municipalities, but subjects of Russia. A mandatory requirement for the construction of residential complexes and microdistricts is the construction of the required number of schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and improvement of public spaces,” noted the head of Kazan.

A multifunctional year-round sports ground will be located on the territory of the educational institution. Outside in the summer, children will be able to train on exercise machines, play football on a special field, exercise on a treadmill with a jumping pit, and in the winter they can play hockey or skate. There is also a picnic area - a lawn will be laid on the territory of the educational institution especially for this purpose.

Currently, up to 30 people are working at the construction site, but their number will increase every week depending on the complexity and volume of work performed. For example, up to 120 people will be engaged in the construction of a monolithic frame alone every day. At the moment, the foundation pit is completely ready, reinforced concrete piles are being driven and preparations are underway for the installation of a concrete base. Next week workers will begin installing monolithic grillages.

Deputy Director of the GISU of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilnur Ildarovich Kalimullin took part in the visit to the construction site
